Allyhealthychef in the making:Garlic Butter Prawn

Here's my first official dish with my new HAPPYCALL!

I think it's one of the best purchases I've made, well suited for dummy cooks like me.

Very happy with my dish:

GARLIC BUTTER PRAWN

Had a fight with my mum with the way the prawns are deshelled. 

I like them neat, this way, but she thinks i'm wasting a good portion of the head. 

Really mum, they are my prawns! 

So i had to kick her out of the kitchen!

Spent 1.5hours chopping on these garlics and chilli padi

Had horrible chilli burn for 5 hours. I didnt know it can hurt so bad! Similar to placing ur finger on a candle flame, only that ur finger doesn't literally burn up. I tried dipping them in milk, sugar water, ice water, tomato juice, alcohol, detergent and applying colgate. Nope didnt work! eventually went back to dipping my fingers in a bowl of cold water while trying to fall aslp for the night. Thank god it was gone when i woke up.

I'm NEVER touching chilli padi with my barehands again.

Now the butter, lemon and parsley.

HAPPYCALL is wonderful, seems like it makes it less likely for my food to burn.

I think i'll be using this my whole life. The color is looking good here aint it ;)

Here's my first attempt. They look very sick don't they? lol

(And i dont know why my mum like her prawns curled up this way, it annoys me.)

Conclusion: I'm a fast learner ;)

Lesson of the Day: 

1. Buy a garlic/chilli chopper (Already did!)

2. Use 4 chilli padi instead of 7 (Not that suitable for most tastebuds hee)

3. This recipe is still best for BBQ (Tried it, FANTASTIC!)

Our dear friend has got it all =) A loving, faithful husband who is not just great at his professional job but also great in the kitchen. He offered to scrub the kitchen so his wife can stay with us for moscato.

Before this, I've always wondered, why is 'Starry Night' such a famous piece of painting? Was experimenting it during my secondary 4 art lessons and my art teacher then will go on n on about starry night.

After looking at the original, I'm sealing my lips. Almost an honor to having seen it.

Zen Shindo Art Dining

Spent this bi-weekly cycling session w Xiuhui at East Coast Park. Been neglecting my keep fit resolution. GUILTY MUCH!

It's been awhile since we met n she hasn't been going through e best time so I suggested dining at ZEN SHINDO ART. Mainly for the fresh oysters! Used to b a dollar each, but now it's $9.90 for half a dozen. still cheap YET FRESH! we ordered 2 sets for starters!

Eddie & I had this slice beef w mashed potatoes which was 👍👍👍. but XH doesn't take beef so we tried other stuff on e menu.

the prawn rolls & mushroom (herbal) soup will b my new must-have items!

tiramisu looks really amazing, the whole branch structure is edible. I figured I really enjoy artistic dining experiences (like e one in Dempsey), never mind if it does taste as good as it looks. The anticipation for the next dish jus gets me really excited!!

DIY Setup

Had a crazy long day w the photoshoot ytd! planned to finish up 100 perfect-to-go photos but we only managed about 50.

Appreciate the great help from CM (photographer) and Samuel (umbrella lightings)!

it's amazing how help is always round e corner. I was looking for my lightings a day before the shoot so I casually mentioned it during my meeting w samuel. then he went "why don't you use mine? it's sitting ard in my warehouse anw!" & guess what, his warehouse was jus 10mins away from CM's place.

Sometimes I really love how fate works =)

Tajimaya @ Vivo City

Got a delicious treat at @Tajimaya, Vivocity. think it's gonna b my fav too. seriously, e moment I sink my teeth into that tiny pcs of beef I felt like I had a glowing halo on me. i wasnt expecting a juice explosion haha.

all of a sudden '2D1N Soju bang' (dont know if I got e name right) tasted like rubber to me. according to ken tajimaya is underrated, nobody seemed to have heard of this wonderful restaurant. good tt there's no need for long Q and u don't smell like BBQ PORK when u're done w ur meal.

it's ala carte and we went w e 2nd smallest set which cost ard $120++

consist of
2plates of meat
a bowl of salad
2 bowls of miso soup
a plate of vege
a plate of mushroom, pumpkin etc
2 ice cream mochi

I dont fancy garlic but omg their garlic rice is mad yums! It's like a mixed of e pepper lunch sauce fried w garlic. sweet than bitter.

I think it's so delicious partly due e person's cooking, like when I tried cooking a few slices it tasted a wee bit off fantastic.

KFC Wedding =)

got a few photos from feli & kel's wedding. her's is the very first wedding I've been to and seeing her walk down e aisle made my nose tingle a little haha. she was so so beautiful, will upload more when her actual photos are up.

kudos to me for making an effort not to wear black hehe!

church was beside the Singapore art museum n dinner was at grand corpthorne beside ZOUK ;)
